Job Title and Location: Project Manager / 560 Jefferson Avenue, Secaucus, NJ 07094  

 

Classification: Non-exempt

 

Reports to: The position will report to Senior Project Managers.

 

Job Purpose: You are responsible for masterminding, outlining and developing projects in cooperation with clients and SBI team members. You will oversee all aspects of projects and coordinate/complete projects on time within budget and within scope. Your role is also to help motivate team members to ensure all goals are met.

 

Essential Functions:

Main Tasks

1.       Manage and Nurture Client Relationships: meetings, phone calls, site surveys and managing Client expectations.

2.       Onsite activities: bringing the project to completion, running crew and tracking crew hours (in tandem, or in three, with other PMs, or alone), facing clients and coordinating with all teams.

3.      Drafting: from the general “site plan” to details; Create drawings for client/customer review and also shop drawings to communicate detail internally to necessary SBI teams

4.       Understand and utilize the SBI bidding program

5.       Production of estimates based on creative from client, through collaborative and team-input based processes. This can involve discussions on pricing, labor, materials, fabrication techniques and so forth.

Secondary Tasks

6.       Understand capabilities of the Secaucus, NJ shop and how to incorporate in-house talent versus outside vendors to complete job scopes.

7.       Project strategy, planning and execution: how the project team is assembled, how the building process is managed, how the project comes together onsite and offsite, logistical aspects; understanding and utilizing the SBI pullsheet.

8.       Help obtain and file Certificates of Insurance (COIs) as necessary.

9.      Book travel arrangements for crew when necessary.

10.  Provide appropriate documentation, reports, receipts, Crew Call Sheets to Administrators in a timely fashion/meeting internal company deadlines (i.e .Credit Card statements and Reimbursements complete with Job’s, etc.)

11.   Ensuring safety and company protocols are followed, including mandatory on-site safety talks

 

Other Duties:
- Responsible for meeting weekly deadline to submit online Timesheets with Job# details, as well as Crew Call Sheets

 

Competency & Physical Demands:

- 4-9years of experience as Project Manager in experiential marketing, scenic fabrication, production design, display exhibits, set design, or similar event experience.

- Must possess good Computer Skills: proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Vectorworks, Sketch up, Rhino3D, etc.

- Must possess good Carpentry Skills for on-site/shop work, as needed

- Ongoing knowledge of basic event components i.e. lighting, rigging, sound, permitting, etc.

Proficiency in one or more CAD programs: SketchUp, Rhino, Vectorworks

-Developing goals for business growth and ensuring they are met

- Must be able to train personnel and help team members develop their skills

- Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive and handle uncertainty

-Researching organizations and individuals to find new opportunities, attracting new clients and maintaining/expanding current client relationships.

- Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives

 

Work takes place:

*sitting at desk with telephone and computer use; regularly required to use hands to handle,

reach with hands/arms and talk and hear.

               *in Shop setting (Shop Management, Carpentry)

               *on-site (Project Management, Carpentry)

               *attending conferences, meetings, industry events; Travel may be required.

 

Work Environment:

- Work environment varies: Office Setting, Shop and Warehouse areas, on-site jobs, Client Meetings, some Travel, etc.

- Dynamic, open work environment

 

Position Type/Expected Hours:

- Full Time, 40+ hours per week typically expected

- Typical Work Hours 7am-3pm Monday through Friday, sometimes weekend/overnight hours; hours will vary based on project/company needs

 

Hourly Range:

$35 - $42.50based on experience and qualifications
